President

Hossam (Sam) Bayoumy is president of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. He is responsible for the operational oversight of its four hospital campuses and ensuring the overall quality and safety of care, regulatory compliance, financial management and the strategic growth of the organization.

For more than two decades, Sam has been a leader in operational and clinical roles in Select Medical’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital Division at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer and vice president of operations at Kessler. Prior to that, he was the CEO of Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital – Avon, Ohio. In his earlier career at Select Medical, Sam held roles of increasing responsibility, including assistant director of therapy services, director of rehabilitation services and senior director of therapy and rehabilitation services.

A licensed physical therapist with more than 25 years of experience, Sam has worked extensively with survivors of stroke, traumatic brain injury, limb loss and other orthopedic and neurological conditions in the acute care hospital and inpatient, outpatient and sub-acute rehabilitation settings.

Sam holds a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Kean University and a master’s in business administration with a health care concentration from the University of Scranton.
