Rick Pagnillo, MPT
What's exciting is the fact that we're generally able to see great improvement in a shorter period of time.
Many years ago, Rick Pagnillo's older brother was seriously injured in a moped accident. It became a defining moment for Rick as it provided the impetus for him to pursue a career in rehabilitation.
"It just made sense that this is what I needed to do."
Today, Rick manages one of Kessler's outpatient centers, a setting that he feels very comfortable in: "Here we deal primarily with musculoskeletal injuries. Our patients typically come to us with a wide range of orthopedic and sports- and work-related conditions that we can effectively address through a variety of therapeutic interventions."
Individuals who began their recovery from stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury or amputation at one of Kessler's three inpatient hospitals benefit from an unparalleled continuum – and continuity – of care at our outpatient centers. Similarly, patients who are referred directly to a Kessler Rehabilitation Center find that same level of dedicated and innovative care, which leads to a successful rehabilitation experience.
"The people we treat place great confidence in our skills… and we don't let them down," says Rick. "They see the success we can achieve. Let's face it: Being part of Kessler carries with it a certain sense of responsibility to our patients and to our colleagues as well. We've earned a pretty amazing reputation and it is our responsibility to uphold those standards of care…and live up to expectations of each and every patient."
