For the 16th consecutive year, Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation has been named as one of "America’s Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report. Kessler continues its ten-year reign as the top rehabilitation hospital in the East and this year placed third among the more than 1,100 rehabilitation hospitals/units in the nation.
Kessler’s reputational score increased by nearly 1.5 percentage points, which put the hospital ahead of such renowned institutions as The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) in Texas, Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Craig Hospital in Denver, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston and Rusk Institute in New York. Only the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle ranked higher than Kessler in this year’s listing.
The rankings are based on a survey of randomly-selected board-certified physiatrists, who were asked to name the five hospitals they consider to be best in treating difficult cases, without taking into account cost or location.
