Kessler Institute to Host Art Exhibit and Reception Honoring Former Patient
-- Important Works of Arthur Bucknor will be featured --
West Orange, N.J. – Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation will host a free art exhibit featuring the work of renowned painter and former Kessler patient Arthur Bucknor on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the hospital’s gallery, located at 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ. A live jazz band will provide music and refreshments will be served.
Bucknor, a semi-professional painter who has sold paintings all over the world, was diagnosed in 2010 with a brain tumor that left him partially paralyzed on his left side -- and unable to use his dominant hand. Through perseverance, determination and rehabilitation, he has learned to not only use his right hand, but to create art that is even more expressive and fluid.
The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public. Reservations are requested. For more information or to RSVP, please call Kessler’s Recreation Department at 973.731.3600 ext. 4725.
